Mark Dunn is an AV-rated products liability and toxic tort attorney. He has represented defendants in silica, asbestos, benzene, black lung, diesel fume, welding rod, and other toxic-tort actions, as well as manufacturers and regional distributors in product liability/strict liability claims. Mark’s practice also includes environmental law and litigation, OSHA compliance and litigation, complex commercial litigation, nursing home, and medical malpractice litigation.

Mark joined Osburn, Hine & Yates in 2006. He is a member of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, DRI (Toxic Tort and Environmental Law Committee; Products Liability Committee), and the ABA (Products Liability Committee; Labor and Employment OSHA Subcommittee). Mark represents clients throughout the State of Missouri. He is admitted to the State Bar of Missouri, the United States Federal District Courts of Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mark also is licensed to practice law in Texas.

Mark began his career at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Dallas, Texas, where he did toxic tort, environmental, and commercial litigation. Mark later joined Jones Day, also in Dallas, where his practice was focused on toxic tort and products liability. At Jones Day, Mark was a member of the litigation team recognized by the National Law Journal for one of the “Top 20 Defense Wins of the Year” ( Bryant/Shackleford v. Empire Abrasives, 2002), and recognized by the American Lawyer for “Best Product Liability Practice” (2004). Mark also co-authored “Emerging Silica Claims – Looking Beyond Sandblasting and Foundry Exposures,” Jones Day copyright (2004). More recently, Mark was recognized as a “Top Litigator” by the American Lawyer and the National Law Journal.

Mark earned his undergraduate degree at Carleton College, where he graduated with honors. Mark also graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, Mark worked as a research assistant for Professor Roger Park on the Trial Objections Handbook. Mark was the primary author of § 10.16, “Objection to comment on civil litigant’s failure to call witness,” Trial Objections Handbook (1st ed. 1991).

In addition to his regular practice, Mark has served as an adjunct professor at Southeast Missouri State University where he taught Constitutional Law, Constitutional Rights of Inmates, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal Law. Mark also taught Business Law at Collin County Community College while he was living in Dallas.
